Aparo's Batman was the quintessentially 70s Batman, combining realistic linework with dynamic and exciting posing, particularly when it came to the many fight scenes. Aparo's famous work begins with his many "The Brave and the Bold" teamup stories, where each issue featured a Batman working together with one of DC's other heroes - or even an unlikely villain, like his archnemesis, the Joker!
Unlike other "Legends of the Dark Knight" hardcovers, which often feature fragmented stories, each of the stories contained within are complete, from beginning to end. Among the guest stars include Robin, Green Arrow, Black Canary, the Teen Titans, Deadman, Wonderwoman, The Demon Etrigan, Aquaman, the Atom, Wildcat, Two-Face, and the aforementioned Joker! All in all, this book collects "The Brave and the Bold" #98, 100-102, and 104-122. These stories aren't just important to the Batman canon - they're also gorgeously rendered, with pages that are a nice, thick glossy stock, with beautiful, bold colors and lovely art reproduction.
This is truly a deluxe collection, which is out of print and increasingly difficult to find. Collectors may be interested to know that this copy is from the first printing of this edition.
